We were notified by National office that any members that have not switched to EDues by 5/1 and have not been dropped from our rosters will be charged to our Local as per capita. If our Local was to keep the members on our roster that have not switched on our roles it would cost our Local almost 10,000 dollars a month that we would not have. At this point we have had 361 members switch to EDues out of 982 members. Our executive board held an emergency vote this weekend and voted to drop these past members from our roles before this occurs. This will also mean that if you have not made the switch you will be removed from this page as well as our other communication efforts as they are for members only. You’ve fought for your rights all along by being a member and now when we need to fight the hardest two thirds of our members are giving up. The Local will continue to help non members as required by law, but if our official time and office is removed our Executive board will have to reevaluate that issue at that time. Please, having the funds to litigate these ridiculous illegal attacks on our rights, benefits and jobs is the ONLY way for AFGE to continue OUR fight for OUR rights!!
